Patsy S. Townsend
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Patsy S. Townsend, 73, of Vanceboro, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010.
She was a Craven County native, and lived in the Vanceboro community the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Farm Life High School. For about 17 years, she was employed at Cherry Point as a supervisor shipment clerk of household goods. She was employed for 15 years with the Craven County Sherriff's Office, and was a founding member of the Vanceboro Rescue Squad.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, Vanceboro.
Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by three sons, Tony Townsend and wife Charlene, Michael Townsend and wife Ronda, and Mitchell Townsend, all of Vanceboro; one sister, Faye Wetherington and husband Keith of Vanceboro; five grandchildren; and a special niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin Townsend; and one brother, Olin Ray Sammons.
