A number of local, state and national offices are up for election this year, including seats for state house and senate, Craven County Board of Education, Craven County Board of Commissioners and Craven County sheriff.



Incumbent Theron McCabe remains the lone candidate for the District 5 commissioner seat, which represents eastern Craven County and parts of Havelock.



Incumbent Lee K. Allen and Havelock city commissioner George Liner have filed as Republicans to fill the District 6 commissioner seat, while Arland Bell remains the lone Democrat to file for the seat that includes Havelock.



Incumbent Steve Tyson remains the lone candidate for District 7, which covers areas west of Havelock such as Carolina Pines.



Two Republicans, Fred Hughes and Ernest Thomas, and two Democrats, incumbent Jerry Monette and Eric Wayne Smith, have filed to run for sheriff.



Kimberly Rice Smith remains as the lone candidate for the District 6 Board of Education seat representing the Havelock area.
