  • Obama touting his 'magic elixir' again

  • President Obama is rolling out a new ointment with which he hopes to soothe Democrats’ pains this November and on into 2016.
  • President Obama is rolling out a new ointment with which he hopes to soothe Democrats’ pains this November and on into 2016. I think this new product could aptly be called “Marx’s Magic Elixir.”
The genesis of this newest political potion is that wealth imbalances are wrong, even if caused by imbalances of education, skills and efforts. According to his bully bullhorn, he and his party will swing the sword of righteousness to carve redistributive shares and make things “fair.”
This nonsense is more than a hundred years old, regurgitated by Karl, hence the appropriate product name. Class envy has been marketed in a range of dishes, but this may be the first American administration to make it a core foundation of its national recipe.
Rants about wealth inequality resonate with a major slice of his base. Many of his supporters believe government should take people’s stuff if they have “too much” and haul it aboard Obama’s class-warfare express.
It’s all been tried before and that train won’t outrun history. Socialist drivel has been spewed in villages from jungles to deserts as a call to arms to take back wealth, but Karl’s catchy “from each, to each” mantra has done nothing but create misery. Have you ever heard of anybody “escaping” to a communist country?
Of course, committed ideologues like Obama and his crew believe they’ll make it work this time. Over the past five years, I’ve been amazed at how much hogwash like this has been consumed in this country.
I guess some have developed a taste and appetite for such nonsense. Thankfully, commune mindsets always run headlong into the real world, which is what’s happening now.
From Obamacare to employment numbers and economic growth, the country’s sluggish and isn’t going to get much better while the magic elixir of “free stuff to all” is being used in place of real world logic. Liberals hate free market choices.
Locally, there’s a battle with the Onslow County Board of Education regarding vouchers. The suits know if they allow the free market (parents) to make choices about where and how their kids are educated, ineffective schools will go away. Of course, they know it means some bureaucrats and union members will also disappear. Oh my.
For reasons that escape me, liberals think we should all toe governmental lines about what we eat, what we earn, what’s taught in schools and even what we think to the extent they can peek between our ears.
It’s Orwellian spiced with hate. Even a nothing column like this one incites a few to foam at the mouth that I would dare to castigate and revile “their” president.
Until he’s gone, we’ll have to watch Obama aerosol his “Marx Magic Elixir” wonder product everywhere he can. I’ll bet it’s good at removing spots from anybody — five spots, ten spots, change, no job too small.
Page 2 of 2 - I know for a fact it makes an excellent repellant. Look what a good job it did keeping Kay Hagan away.
