  • Two Havelock brothers have been charged with breaking into a neighbor’s home.
    Snyder Baez Jr., 36, and Bruce Baez, 38, both of 148 Twinwood Drive, were caught at a residence on the 100 block of Twinwood Drive, according to a release from the Havelock Police Department.
    Snyder Baez was arrested inside the residence. He has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony conspiracy to break and enter, and possession of burglary tools, according to the release. He is being held in the Craven County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
    Bruce Baez was arrested on the property at the residence being burglarized. He was charged with felony conspiracy to break and enter, and felony aiding and abetting breaking and entering, according to the release. He is being held in the Craven County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.
    The brothers were to make first appearances in court on Tuesday.
    Both men have lengthy records and have served time in prison for similar offenses, according to court and Department of Corrections records.
    Snyder Baez was released from prison on Oct. 20, 2013, after serving a year and nine months for felony breaking and entering. He remains on parole for that conviction.
    Bruce Baez was released from prison on Feb. 26, 2013, after serving more than two years and eight months for seven convictions of felony breaking and entering and other charges. He has other pending cases in Craven County for communicating threats, assault, assault on a female, injury to real property and stalking.
