A blown transformer is sending students from Havelock High home for the day.

Havelock High School is dismissing students for the day because a blown transformer has caused a power outage.

Craven County Schools reports that the students are being dismissed for the day this morning because repairs are estimated to last four hours. The school is unable to provide lunch to students because of the power outage.

Classes for students are scheduled to return to a normal schedule on Tuesday.
