Authorities are still searching for an elderly Newport woman whose house caught fire last week.

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public to locate Goldie Gilliken Hall, 90, of 2065 Highway 24 in Newport.

She was last seen on Sept. 19 at her home in Broad Creek.

Authorities discovered she was missing when firefighters responded to a fire at the home on Sept. 20. Damage from the fire was mainly contained in the kitchen area of the home.

Firefighters initially thought Hall could be trapped in the home, but she was not located in a search of the home and surrounding area after the fire.

Hall reportedly is not operating a vehicle.

She is described as a white female, 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds.

Anyone with information about Hall is asked to call the Carteret County Communications Center at 726-1911 or the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office at 504-4800.
