Havelock police are investigating an incident in which a student was found with a pocket knife at Havelock High School.

A 17-year-old student attending night school was found with the knife on Sept. 17, Havelock Police Chief G. Wayne Cyrus said.

“Another student saw the knife and reported it to one of the teachers and they in turn called the police,” Cyrus said. “He had it in his pocket and he forgot to remove it before he went into the school.”

Cyrus said there was no violence or threat made by the student,

“There was no incident, no confrontation, no threat, nothing along those lines at all,” he said.

The youth was not arrested and police are still investigating.
