A single-vehicle crash Monday night on Catfish Lake Road left one man with minor injuries and a citation.

Alberto Osorio, 30, of Jacksonville, was traveling south toward Jacksonville when he ran off the road and overturned his pickup truck, said Trooper R.A. Woods with the N.C. Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 7:14 p.m. on the dirt and gravel road that is often used as a shortcut between Havelock and Jacksonville.

Woods said that Osorio was driving too fast and was cited for failure to maintain lane control.

The F-250 pickup truck Osorio was driving had a smashed roof and other damage. Woods said the truck was totaled.

Despite the damage to the truck, Osorio received minor injuries, Woods said.
